The firm today is the result of a merger in February 2002, between Swan Net Ltd. and Gundry’s Ltd., Ireland’s two leading netmaking firms, to become one of the strongest net firm in world, offering a comprehensive range of products and services for midwater trawling, bottom trawling, gill netting and fish farming.
Through Hampidjan, they benefit from a major on-going research and development programme into materials design and performance.

As well as the headquarters and manufacturing premises in Killybegs, there are service depots in Shetland, Fraserburgh, Rossaveal, Castletownbere and Skibbereen, at Gloucester, Mass., U.S.A. and an agency in Chile.

For bigger customers, Swan Net Gundry design and manufacture midwater trawls and bottom trawls to the highest standards. Markets include Ireland, Scotland, England, Shetland, the U.S. East Coast, the U.S. Alaska fleet and Chile in South America.
The secret of SNG’s success is knowledge and experience of the industry and a passion for excellence in materials and workmanship. Knowledge is invaluable in understanding customers requirements and in perfecting the performance of nets.

In Killybegs, there is a small marine shop where chandlery, ropes, pots, windbreak and ground cover are sold and distributed to customers locally, nationally and internationally.
